complemented by a series of shared sessions that encourage connection.
A Shared Cross-Conference Experience
Throughout the day, delegates from both conferences will participate in shared activities designed to inspire collaboration, broaden perspectives and build a connected regional health and regional community.

North Queensland Physicians Conference
The North Queensland Physicians’ Conference is a dynamic, physician-led event designed for physicians, bringing together a diverse group of specialists from Far North Queensland to share real-world clinical insights and experiences.
This one-day conference unites physicians dedicated to advancing patient care through collaboration, open discussion, and the exchange of practical knowledge shaped by our unique regional context.
Conference convenor, Dr Ben Vogler, warmly invites you to join us in Cairns.
This year, the conference will be held alongside the MED NORRTH conference, forming a collaborative partnership that delivers distinct yet complementary programs under the shared theme, "From Reef to Remote.” Successful health outcomes in rural and remote areas depend on understanding local context, rather than simply adopting urban-designed models.
The day will begin with a joint session showcasing and celebrating medical research from across Far North and North Queensland. The program will conclude with relaxed refreshments to connect with colleagues, strengthen professional relationships, and continue the conversations sparked throughout the day.
We look forward to welcoming you to this exciting and collaborative event.

MED NORRTH Conference
MED NORRTH returns for its second year following a successful inaugural conference in Townsville. Designed to showcase and celebrate emerging research in the region, MED NORRTH is a fantastic opportunity for medical students and junior doctors to present their work, connect with peers and senior researchers, and immerse themselves in the
research community across Northern Queensland.
The 2026 conference will feature inspiring keynote speaker, engaging panel discussions, and a diverse program of oral and poster presentations. A highlight of this year’s event is our Research Speed Dating session - a fun and informal space where students and early‑career doctors can hear directly from peers and mentors about their research journeys, challenges and successes.
Whether you are just starting to explore research or already involved in a project, MED NORRTH 2026 is a place to learn, connect and be inspired.
